Brief: To design a range of large-scale communications for the Paragon interchange to demonstrate to the public the exciting plans for the development and regeneration of the City by the Urban Regeneration Company. The displays present the changing landscape of Hull and give a “feel-good” image as a place to work and live. The displays have been updated to reflect the continuing work undertaken by the newly formed Hull Forward as the region’s Economic Development Company. Mandatory elements were the company’s new brand mark and their “Stepping Up” campaign style. |

How Jenko helped: Working closely with the client, we designed a range of solutions to communicate this positive message. In line with Hull Forward’s policy of using honest photography, we decided to use real images whenever possible. Previously, much use had been made of artist’s impressions of major development schemes around the city. It was felt the use of real images would convey a more convincing message of achievement rather than a “work in progress”. The main message is carried on a 63 metre x 9 metre banner strategically placed in the approach to the Transport Interchange train platforms. This high-impact banner will be seen by all station users arriving and departing from the station. Two existing advertising hoardings adjacent to the main platform entrance/exit were also utilised, this time we focused one advertisement on the future developments about to happen in the city and the other on the key developmental areas of Healthcare, Education and Housing. In this case we used artist’s impressions of the development areas. The overall message received is of Hull as a buoyant, thriving City which is well on its way to achieving its goals. Testimonial: Hull Forward was easily able to communicate its message to the Jenko team. Jenko worked effectively and economically with their time and project managed the whole process from design through to production and on to installation. The resultant materials deliver the communications we wanted. Nicola Plant, Marketing Manager. |
